Denson’s is a 3rd generation family-owned and operated business. The focus is centered around serving fresh, never frozen foods. While the concept is rather labor-intensive, the results are delicious! No farm-raised fish or shrimp, and nothing prebreaded, or frozen. The widely recognized restaurant was a consistent Best of Virginia Winner and featured in numerous publications for its creative style which is balanced by excellent customer service and attention to detail. Our current focus is serving our award-winning fare while catering, and on our Food Truck, The Chesapeake Beast.


Denson’s stands out due to the quality and freshness of the products served. We are proud to provide the origin of our products served, how they are prepared, and of our unique and ever-changing menus. We serve tasty bivalves in a variety of ways. Grilled ‘Denson Style’, Rockefeller or Cackalacky, fried crisp and golden, and for the purist, oysters served ICE COLD on the half shell, on a bed of crushed ice with lemon, cocktail sauce, and mignonette. We take special care to secure the freshest and tastiest cuisine available coming from various locations throughout the East Coast.
