Denson's Delicious Crab Cakes!
Simple Crab Cake Instructions
Ingredients
-
1 lb Chesapeake Bay blue crab meat
-
10 tablespoons crushed saltine crackers
-
⅔ teaspoon crab seasoning
-
3½ tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
-
⅔ cup Denson’s crab cake base
Step-by-Step
-
Prep the crab
-
Put the crab meat in a bowl
-
Gently pull it apart with your fingers
-
Don’t mash or knead it (you want those nice lumps)
-
-
Add dry ingredients
-
Sprinkle crushed crackers over the crab
-
Add crab seasoning and parsley
-
-
Mix gently
-
Use your fingers (spread out, not squeezing)
-
Lightly toss everything together
-
-
Add the base
-
Pour in the crab cake base
-
Gently mix until everything is just combined
-
Still no heavy mixing, you’re not making bread dough
-
-
Form the cakes
-
Shape into patties whatever size you like
-
Press just enough so they hold together
-
-
Cook
-
Pan-fry, broil, or air fry until golden and cooked through
-
-
Eat immediately like a civilized person with your favorite tartar, cocktail, or remoulade sauce, or just a squeeze of lemon. Or be a purist and just enjoy the crab cake!
The only rule that really matters
Be gentle.
If you overmix, you’ll end up with crab… mush. And no one wants that.
